First-time private lenders
If you have never lent privately before, this is where I spend the most time — the structure, the protections, the questions to ask, and what "indicative" honestly means.

Background & experience
I help business owners, families and individuals understand private lending in practical terms. Drawing on my own experience in business and property, I focus on clear explanations, honest conversations and informed decisions without unnecessary jargon or pressure.
My background is rooted in entrepreneurship, business development and building brands. Over the past 14 years, I have worked across different industries and markets, including international business development, where I negotiated and secured significant commercial agreements.
I am now the co-founder of a Johannesburg-based printing and signage business. Growing the company has given me first-hand experience in managing cash flow, financing assets, evaluating risk and making careful decisions about where and when to commit capital.
I have also been involved in managing a family property portfolio comprising residential apartments and commercial premises. Through this, I have gained practical exposure to property income, operating costs, financial structuring and long-term family wealth planning.
My interest in private lending developed through my own search for alternatives to traditional investments. That personal experience helps me understand the questions clients naturally have. My aim is to explain the structure, potential return, term and risks clearly, so each person can make an informed decision based on their own circumstances.

Anything about product terms or suitability that’s beyond me, I take to the ProLend product team rather than guess.
